Vince Carl has lived in Grants Pass since 1980. In 1976 he earned a BFA at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He has retained an interest in the human form since 1993, when he began to seriously explore his artistic potential. His expressions of this form have developed in surprising ways, he continues to hone his drawing skills, and recognizes influences from Kokoschka, Schiele, Picasso, and Rauchenburg. He uses color, gesture, line, and shape, to design and manipulate the space. He experiments with process, media, format, and recognizing the unexpected, to create his art.
